Prof Sussan Uzoamaka Arinze-Onyia
RN, MB;BS, MPH, FWACP, FMCPHARINZE-ONYIA Sussan Uzoamaka is a Professor of Community Medicine in the Faculty of Clinical Medicine, Enugu State University College of Medicine as well as a Consultant Public Health Physician in Enugu State University Teaching Hospital. She holds fellowship of West African College of Physicians (2005) and National Postgraduate Medical College in Public Health (2006). She has served her institutions in various capacities at different times including but not limited to: Head of Department of Community Medicine (2006-2008; 2011-2015), Faculty of Clinical Medicine Examination Officer (2016-2018) and Associate Dean (2018-2020). She has served severally as Chairman or Member of several Committees in her Department, Faculty and the University. She is an examiner and accreditor for West African College of Physicians. She has successfully supervised 2 Part-2 Fellowship dissertations and assessed 14. Her current research is on Occupational Health, Epidemiology and Research methodology. Dr Dan Chiedozie Ajawara
MB;BS, MBA, MPADr Dan Chiedozie Ajawara is a long-standing private Medical Practitioner and Public Administrator. He was trained at the University of Nigeria, Imo State University, and ESUT Business School. He is the Chief Medical Director of St Daniel Consolata Specialist Hospital, Enugu. One of the foremost hospitals in Enugu. He is also serving on several companies’ Boards. He is a Philanthropist and has served Rotary as District Governor. A Zonal Director of the Rotary Maternal and Child Health Project and a Polio Champion who has served as a Member of Nigeria National PolioPlus Committee.
Okpe Ijeoma Fidelia
NCE, BSc, MSc, PhD (in view) Peace, Conflict and Development studies.Former Principal at Trans-Ekulu Girl's Secondary School Enugu. A rotarian with so much passion for saving lives through voluntary blood donation. Has donated 34 pints of her own blood to save lives, and mobilized over 2,000 pints from voluntary donors; to save lives at different times, in hospitals in the South East and Southsouth states in Nigeria. Such hospitals include, UNTH Ituku Ozalla, EST Teaching hospital, Parklane Enugu, National Orthopedic hospital Enugu, General hospital Amaku Awka in Anambra state, Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching hospital Nnewi, Ebonyi State Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, FMC Umuahia, General Hospital Uyo, University of Nigeria Medical Centre Nsukka, etc. Service to humanity is primary to her!
Dr Ifeanyi Godwin Chukwu
MB, BS (Nig.), MPH (Sheffield UK), FMCPH, DHM.Consultant public health/community medicine physician at ESUTH with experience in health system management and regulation across private, public, and faith-based sectors. Worked as a private medical practitioner (1994-1999) before joining Enugu State government as a medical officer in 2001, rising to chief medical officer in 2005. Held prominent leadership positions, including Director of Medical Services for Enugu State Health Management Board (2016-2019) and Enugu State Ministry of Health (2019-2024). Chaired several committees, including the Research Ethics Committee, Disciplinary Committee, and Antiquackery Committee at ESMOH, and was a member of the Technical Working Group on Outbreak Management/COVID-19 Pandemic. Served on governing boards of Enugu State Hospital Management Board (2016-2019), UNTH Ituku Ozalla (2019-2022), and ESUTH Park Lane (2019-2023). Council member of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (2019-2023). Transferred to ESUTH Park Lane and appointed a consultant community medicine/public health physician in February, 2024. Special interests include community health management and health policy implementation. Skilled in community engagement, health education, and outbreak response. Consultancy for WHO (immunization unit) and served as a UN Volunteer with UNDP in Limpopo, South Africa (2014). Advocate for integrative and natural medicine, with research interests in non-communicable disease prevention, nutritional education, weight management, and lifestyle medicine. I have worked extensively at the Enugu State University of Technology Teaching Hospital Parklane, Enugu, where I served as Deputy Director of Nursing in charge of the Anti-Retroviral clinic, Immunization Unit. I have been actively involved in national and state immunization initiatives, serving as a ward focal person, core trainer, and end-process monitor for maternal and child health programs. In addition to my clinical roles, I have contributed to nursing education as a tutor at the School of Nursing, ESUT Teaching Hospital. My diverse experience includes working in the main theatre of the hospital, showcasing my comprehensive skills in nursing and midwifery. My dedication to public health and education underscores my commitment to improving healthcare outcomes.
Inyiama Vivian Uzoamaka
(MSc, PGD, BSc, RN & RM)Inyiama Vivian Uzoamaka holds an MSc in Public Health, a PGD, and a BSc in Nursing. I am a registered nurse and midwife with a wealth of experience in public health and maternal care. Currently, I am also a Facilitator for the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, specializing in Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (BEMONC) and Advanced Life Saving Skills. I have worked extensively at the Enugu State University of Technology Teaching Hospital Parklane, Enugu, where I served as Deputy Director of Nursing in charge of the Anti-Retroviral clinic, Immunization Unit. Hon Dr Barth Chinedu Nwankwo
MBBS, MSc, MWACP.Senior Registrar in the department of Community Medicine, Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu. In addition to his degree in Medicine and Surgery, he also holds Master’s degree in Health system, Policy and Management. He is a member of West African College of Physicians (MWACP), and was inducted in October, 2023 at Lome, Togo. He has worked in various high-profile hospitals where he distinguished himself as a very dedicated and competent medical practitioner. These hospitals include; 1. Enugu State University Teaching Hospital 2. Medical Unit of Nigeria Police Force, Enugu State 3. Mother of Christ Hospital Specialist hospital Dr Barth Nwankwo is a thorough community man. He has served his town Akiyi-Umulokpa as the President General of the Town Union for two tenures, and also the Secretary of the Town Union for one tenure. He has also served the Enugu state government in the following capacities; i. Senior Special Assistant on Health matters, to the former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. ii. Supervisor for Health: Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area. Dr Barth Nwankwo is a very active member of Nigeria Medical Association, Enugu State branch, and served as the Infection Prevention and Control subcommittee secretary. He has also conducted Lot Quality Assurance Sampling for World Health Organization.
PROF EDMUND O. NDIBUAGU
MBBS, MBA, MPH, MWACP, FMCPHProfessor of Public Health Medicine/Community Medicine, College of Medicine, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Nigeria. Also, Chief Consultant at the University Teaching Hospital. Joined the Service of Enugu state government as a Medical Officer in 1991, rising to the rank of Chief Medical Officer and Director of Medical Services at the State Health Board in 2006. Transferred service to Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu in 2007, and later joined Department of Community Medicine of the University in 2012, as Lecturer 1. Also worked in some private and public hospitals before joining Enugu State University Teaching Hospital. Served as Head, Department of Community Medicine, Enugu State College of Medicine/Teaching Hospital for five years; and HIV/AIDS Coordinator for the hospital, for three years. Founding Chairman, Board of Trustees of Esucom Health Care Delivery Research Initiative (Institution-based Research Group), and Community Positive Health Attitude Initiative (A Non-Profit, Non-Governmental Organization). He was the pioneer Focal Person for Infection Prevention and Control in Enugu State, and ESUT Teaching hospital, Enugu, Nigeria. Has rendered Consultancy services to some International and National organizations such as DfID, USAID, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), and National Action Committee on AIDS (NACA).
FORSTER NKECHINYERE ANI
RN/M, RPON, BSC, MSC, PHD (IN VIEW)Forster Nkechinyere Ani is a Staff Nurse-Midwife and Pre-operative Nurse with a BSc in Health Education and an MSc in Public Health Education. She has extensive experience in clinical client management and public health developmental work, focusing on immunization, malaria, gender policies in health, HIV/AIDS, RMNCAEH+N, health policy, and advocacy programs. She has collaborated with national and international implementing organizations, including USAID (MSH-PMI-S/PII and IHP MCSP), WHO, UNICEF, FHI, CCCRN, SuNMap, ENR, ECEWS, CRS, NPHCDA, IHVN, and URC. She has also worked closely with FMOH, SMOH, and Local Government Health Authorities and facility levels. Nkechi has held key roles, including Consultant State RMNCAEH+N Technical Lead for USAID-led PMI-S/PII in Akwa Ibom State, Senior Quality Improvement Specialist and Quality Improvement (QI) Coordinator and Acting State Team Leader both are USAID funded programs in Ebonyi State. She presented Nigeria’s experiences in implementing the MNH Quality of Care (QoC) framework at Uganda’s Pediatric QoC launch and earned an outstanding performance award in HIV QoC activities as a State QI Lead. She is certified in Quality and Patient Safety and has completed Mid-Level Management Training for public health managers. Known for her dedication, integrity, and strong managerial skills, Nkechi is committed to contributing proactive solutions to current public health challenges.
